2. How much does that technology cost?
Quite a lot. The price tag for the extensive package, including extra cameras and data processing, is more than 15 million euros. For that amount, each stadium will receive a major technological makeover.
“We are going from 36 to more than 650 tactical cameras in our stadiums,” Parys explains. “They will record thousands of data points per second. Now we can track one point on a player’s body, soon that will be more than a thousand. That provides razor-sharp data that our VAR operators can consult in one centralized program.”
