Dr Abstract (me) teaches at Sheridan College in Interactive Media. We have two 6 unit courses (6 hours a week for 14 weeks x 2) with lessons as well, so ZIM can certainly be taught in College and University as well.

Here is a post about using Sprites in ZIM. This will be helpful for anyone coming from Scratch where all the pictures are called sprites.

Using Sprites - from a Kids View

Here is a video of how kids can use sprites. Kids often come from Scratch where all the pictures are sprites. In ZIM we usually use Sprite to mean animated pictures... although there is the concept of a TextureMap where sprites can show a bunch of pictures. And... loading pictures from a Sprite for an Emitter can be more efficient due to a single read to the GPU. [ZIM Explore! 87.
