ZIM is TEN! See the progression

10_years_of_code

Thanks @Jamesbrrtt for the decade banner! See down below

Here is a ZIM Explore video exploring ZIM and its progression. Please give it a watch on YouTube, and if you have a thumb to give, that would be wonderful. Hope you enjoy the video right to the oops at the end ;-).

---------------- ORIGINAL POST ----------------

Just realized that ZIM was launched in November of 2014.

We do not have the exact original site because ZIM DUO shared the same site. The section links are not quite working properly - all the sections are just listed down underneath.

All the versions and site we have are found under VERSIONS in the ABOUT section of the current site. https://zimjs.com/about.html#versions

We have added a little section at the bottom of the versions that shows a timeline (thanks @karelrosseel82 for the suggestion).

We should plan some sort of celebration for November 21st.

Very nice, James - I thought it was 70 years and nearly had a heart attack. Maybe file off the left top of the 1. Not sure if it needs to go right to the stem or just a smaller overhang... maybe would like to see both.

Hmm, you're right. Here's an update. Happy to have a go at something completely different if you think of anything.

Some stats over the 10 years:

7 Billion ZIM views
223,000 video views ***
800 videos

1,000 CodePen Followers
2,120 YouTube Followers
507 stars on GitHub
400 Commits

** versions - when we tried to stop at ZIM TEN, there were a half dozen major subversions. And when we tried to stop at version ZIM we had ZIM ZIM 00, 01, 02 which were like major versions.

*** this is current YouTube - we did all the early What IZ? series, etc. on the danzen video account.

**** just the ZIM file not the helper libraries or createjs - includes comments and docs entries which are built into the ZIM code and parsed out.

We have posted a ZIM Exam in the Community section as code challenge. If you dare... do the exam!

Thanks Dan, very kind of you to use it! Happy 10th!

A few years ago, a client asked us to develop a very special landing page. The page had various music-related elements and rotary knobs. I had many attempts to code these knobs myself, but it didn't turn out well... While searching the internet, I came across Dan Zen's website, and since then my life has changed.

Countless games, applications, cool developments, and our systems - all of them are based on ZIMJS, which simply makes life easier and more creative.

Thank you very much, Dan. May we continue to create many more wonderful things with ZIM.
