Please scroll down and vote for a day and time. Cheers.
Would anyone be interested in a ZIM ZOOM in July? That's where we get to meet, chat about a ZIM - no pressure... on ZOOM. It has been a while since we have done one. https://zimjs.com/zoom We would schedule it for a couple weeks from now.

It looks like Saturday is our favourite day.
BUT... it turns out I must be in Montreal on the 26th rather than my normal station. So how about we do the ZIM Zoom this Saturday.
ZIM ZOOM - Saturday, July 19th - 11am EST
Note: this is one week before the Saturday on the poll.

I am currently working as a Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Teacher Education Department) and as a visiting Professor at the University of Wollongong. Prior to academia I was a teacher across various levels of schooling. My research interests are in the field of instructional design and educational innovation. Most of my work focuses on ICT integration in teaching and learning processes and how this can be associated with teacher and school characteristics. This encompasses the idea that innovations should be situated within the wider field of school improvement.
-
In more recent work, I am especially interested in exploring the interplay between (ICT) innovations and professional development. Also in this area I investigate themes at the individual level, e.g. educational beliefs, and at school level, e.g. leadership. To present how these themes relate, the SQR-model was developed, focusing on strategies to prepare teachers for ICT integration.

As a lecturer of Instructional Design I am committed to finding solutions to real problems by setting up design research. With colleagues at Twente University, I am investigating how TPACK can be developed in pre- and in-service training e.g. through teacher design teams. I am also exploring how ICT restructures the classroom as a spatial setting and the influences this has on pedagogical choices.
-
Moreover, much of my work is related to the social implications of ICT use. In collaboration with development agencies, I have carried out studies on the potential of ICT in Africa and digital exclusion in Flanders. I was involved in research projects across different countries including China, Australia, Indonesia and Kenya. As a Visiting Scholar I worked at the Edith Cowan University (Australia), Twente University (the Netherlands), Oslo University (Norway) and the University of British Columbia (Canada).
=> so I hope he can spread out the word ZIM worldwide !

+🎉 YOU-I** AMAZING**…I AMAZING**!
The Ugliest Website of the Year 2025 is mine & made entirely by AI (Canva), with a single prompt. And that's precisely the point: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘯, 𝘪𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶 ... An AI tool understands just enough to build something, but not enough to give meaning. And that's exactly why digital and AI literacy are so important for students, but certainly for teachers too!
Nice side effect: 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 stripe checked now!
You can view my bucket list on my website www.dimitrivandillen.nl and perhaps discover for yourself how you can use AI in a meaningful way.
Thanks to everyone who voted, followed along, and watched. And yes, I colored outside the lines... but with a point.
